Laura Lightbody

Laura is a ceramic artist and educator based in Glasgow, Scotland. Working from her home studio, she produces contemporary functional ceramic pieces for the home. She slip casts and decorates simple geometric forms with surface patterns that are derived from motifs and graphics from the everyday. Each piece is designed, produced and decorated by hand ensuring each form is individual.
Alongside her ceramics practice, she also teaches art & design at secondary level. Balancing both her art and teaching practice keeps her motivated and forever inspired. She is a graduate of Glasgow School of Art and has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally.
